BOOK A RETREAT

Seven nights. Seven days. One extraordinary city

Mornings on court. Afternoons out in the Cape. Evenings eating somewhere worth the drive.

This is the whole week, hour by hour. Some of it is fixed, most of it is optional, and none of it is rushed.

BOOK A RETREAT
Your Week in Cape Town | Cape Town Padel Retreats

Day 1 · Sunday

Arrive, settle, hit a few

From 12:00
Check in at the villa. Make your own way, or ask us to arrange a transfer when you book.
Afternoon
Yours. Pool, terrace, coffee, or a lie-down if the overnight flight caught up with you.
16:30
First session on court, under Table Mountain. Relaxed and social. A chance to shake off the flight, and for your coach to see everyone play before groups are set.
19:30
Dinner. The whole group together for the first time.

Entirely optional, all of it. If you land at three in the afternoon and want to sleep, sleep.

Day 2 · Monday

Camps Bay, then the top of Table Mountain

07:00
Breakfast at the villa
08:00
Three hours on court at Camps Bay. An hour of coaching, then match play in your group.
12:30
Long lunch on the Camps Bay strip, Atlantic in front of you
14:00
Walk it off on the beach. Swim if you’re brave. The Atlantic here is properly cold.
16:00

17:30
Sunset from the summit
19:30
Dinner

Day 3 · Tuesday

Up before the sun, on court at Clifton

04:45
Depart for Lion’s Head. Headtorches provided.
05:15
The climb. Around 45 minutes, with a short scramble near the top.
06:00
Sunrise from the summit. Atlantic on one side, Table Mountain on the other.
07:45
Back at the villa
08:15
Late breakfast, no rush
Morning
Free. Sleep it off, or sit by the pool.
13:30
Lunch at the house
16:00
Three hours on court at Clifton, ocean in front of you and the best light of the day.
19:30
Dinner out

The hike is optional and nobody counts heads. It’s a real climb, and the lie-in is a perfectly good alternative.

Day 4 · Wednesday

Padel, then the penguins

07:00
Breakfast at the villa
08:00
Three hours on court. Match play, rotating partners.
12:00
Lunch at the house
13:30
Depart for Simon’s Town
14:30
Boulders Beach. A colony of African penguins a few metres from the boardwalk.
15:30
Beach afternoon. False Bay runs several degrees warmer than the Atlantic you’ve been swimming in all week.
19:30
Dinner at the house

Day 5 · Thursday

Padel, a picnic, and the end of the continent

07:00
Breakfast at the villa
08:00
Three hours on court
11:30
Depart south down the peninsula
13:00
Picnic on the cliffs. Laid out somewhere with the Atlantic beneath you and nothing between you and the horizon.
14:30
Cape Point and the Cape of Good Hope. The old lighthouse, the boardwalk to the viewpoint, and a funicular if you’d rather not walk it.
16:30
North again, home along Chapman’s Peak Drive. A hundred and fourteen curves cut into the cliff face, ocean straight down on your left.
19:30
Dinner at the house

Day 6 · Friday

Padel in the vineyards

07:30
Breakfast at the villa
08:30
Depart for the Durbanville hills

12:45
Wine tasting. Meerendal has been making wine here since 1702.
13:45
Long lunch on the farm
15:30
Free time. Vineyard walk, or another glass in the sun.
17:00
Head back
19:30
Something light at the villa, for anyone who wants it

We drive, so nobody has to hold back.

Day 7 · Saturday

Tournament day

09:00
The retreat tournament. Four hours, level-matched draws, everybody plays through to the end.
13:00
Lunch out, and prize-giving
Afternoon
Free. Beach, pool, packing, or nothing at all.
18:30
The farewell braai. Fire, food, South African wine, Cape gin and cold beer. No set finish time.

Day 8 · Sunday

Home

A note on the plan

Weather moves things around, and we’d rather be honest about that than pretend otherwise. The cable car closes in high wind and Chapman’s Peak occasionally shuts after rain. When that happens we swap days around. It’s one of the advantages of being local.

Nothing on this itinerary is compulsory. Some guests do every single thing. Others skip the 4:45am start and meet everyone at breakfast. Both are fine.
